COVERAGE
The main focus is on the Hawkins family but other families are not excluded.
Ancestral lines are given (where known) for anyone who was born, lived, or was buried in the village.
Descendant lines are not generally followed for those who have left the village.
The names and details of individuals born less than 100 years prior to the current date have been excluded unless
it is known they are deceased or specific authorisation has been granted.
FAMILY HISTORY PAGES INDEX ENTRIES
All entries refer to parents and links to the page which describes the family.
Multiple marriages are included on the same page.
Entries are listed under the main location (or locations) where the children were raised.
Little Coxwell is listed first and then the others in alphabetical order.
Within each location parents are listed alphabetically, normally by the male's surname.
NAMES
In general the name used for an individual born before 1837 is the name appearing on the first available record,
usually a record of baptism.
DATES
All dates are reproduced as found. No adjustment has been made to dates appearing in records
created during the Julian Calendar period.
BIRTH, BAPTISM, & BURIAL RECORDS
When an event took place in an Anglican church only the name of the parish is given.
The name of the church is omitted in order to reduce unnecessary repetition.
The churches most often used were Saint Mary's at Little Coxwell and All Saints at Faringdon.
