Pencil-and-crayon drawing of Little Coxwell Church

This early 20th Century postcard features Little Coxwell Church and was hand drawn in pencil and crayon in 1905 by Olive Hawkins, the daughter of Henry and Emma Hawkins. It was posted to her sister Martha Selina Seary (ne้ Hawkins) in Chaubattia, India, where Martha's husband Albert George Seary was serving with the 1st Battalion, Devonshire Regiment.

There was no message, the drawing of Little Coxwell Church being sufficient to identify the sender. Such hand-made postcards were fairly common at the turn of the century.

Olive Hawkins was living in the house featured in the postcard of Little Coxwell showing the village pump. Both sisters were born there.
