EXTRACTS FROM FARINGON ADVERTISER OF 4 DECEMBER 1920
In fond and loving memory of a dear wife and mother, EMMA HAWKINS, who passed peacefully away on December 5th, 1918, at Little Coxwell.
There is a spot, not far from home,
Where our dear one is sleeping,
Who seemed alive but yesterday,
So fresh her memory keeps.
The flowers we lay upon her grave
May wither and decay,
But our love for her who sleeps beneath
Will never fade away.
Inserted by her loving HUSBAND and CHILDREN
In loving memory of our dear Mother and Granny, EMMA HAWKINS, who passed away December 5th, 1918, at Little Coxwell.
We think of her in silence,
No eyes shall see us weep;
But ever in our aching hearts
Her memory we'll keep.
Inserted by her loving Daughter and Son, LOUIE and GEORGE, and Grandchildren, DAISY and LU LU, (at Chiswick).
[Emma's daughter Louisa HAWKINS and her husband George MANNING who lived at Chiswick and had two children, Daisy and Lu Lu.
Her name is spelled the same way on family correspondence, ie.e., Lu Lu rather than Lulu.]
In loving memory of EMMA HAWKINS, who passed away December 5th, 1918, at Little Coxwell.
We must not mourn for you dear mother,
Nor weep to think how brief the fleeting hours,
The darkness came - dear mother passed away,
And we are left to mourn her early doom.
Safe on her Saviour's breast she waits
To see her loved ones come.
Sweet memory keeps you ever near us
Though you died two years ago.
From her loving Daughter and Granddaughter DAISY and OLIVE, Derbyshire.
Sleep on, dear mother, take your rest,
They miss you most who loved you best;
Where days are dark and friends are few,
Oh! Mother dear, we long for you.
[From Emma's daughter Daisy and her grandaughter, Olive Lena SEARY, the daughter of Martha Selena HAWKINS and Albert George SEARY.
The two women were living in the Matlock area at the time.]

Three years have passed since that sad day,
When one we loved was called away;
Gone is the face we loved so dear,
Silent is the voice we loved to hear.
Inserted by her loving daughter and son Louie and George and grandchildren LuLu and Daisy (at Chiswick).

In loving memory of EMMA HAWKINS, who passed away December 5th, 1918, at Little Coxwell.
Time may heal a broken heart,
Time may make the wound less sore,
But time can never stop a longing
For our loved one gone before.
Sometime we hope to meet her,
Someday, we know not when.
We have kissed that lovely brow,
And in our aching hearts
We know we have no Mother now,
And we dream of happy times,
When dear Granny who has left us
Listened with us to her joy,
But our sad hearts in their pain
Yet can answer back again.
"Thy will be done."
From her ever-loving daughter and grand-daughter DAISY and OLIVE, Derbyshire.
[Emma's daughter Daisy, and her grandaughter, Olive Lena SEARY.]
EXTRACT FROM FARINGON ADVERTISER OF 8 DECEMBER 1923
In ever loving memory of our dear Mother and Granny; EMMA HAWKINS, who passed away December 5th, 1918, at Little Coxwell.
There is a link death cannot sever,
Love and remembrance last for ever;
Oh for a clasp of her vanished hands,
Or a word from those lips that are still.
From her sorrowing DAUGHTER and SON and GRANDCHILDREN, at Chiswick.
[Louisa HAWKINS, husband George MANNING and children.]
