at the White Horse, 27 Brooks Mews, Westminster. He is stated to be aged 21,
born Faringdon, occupation groom.
From January 1872 to January 1873 an A. Hawkins was recorded working for the Duke of Northumberland
at Alnwick Castle, Northumberland. This undoubtedly refers to Albert.
He was probably a coachman.
In 1875 he married his first wife Janet ROBERTSON in London.
From 1876 to 1880 his first four children were born in London
In the 1881 census he is recorded as a coachman, living at Front Street, Whitburn, Durham, with his wife
Janet and the four eldest children; Albert aged 5, Henry aged 4, Elizabeth aged 3, and Robert aged 8 months.
From 1881 to 1884 his next three children were born in London
In 1887 his first wife died in London. The family appears to have split up.
He married his second wife Ellen ˍ between 1887 and 1891.
In the 1891 census Albert is recorded at Chippenham with his second wife, Ellen.
They are working as a coachman and housekeeper respectively.
Albert died in 1908 in London.
